Valentines Day Recap

Valentines day this year was a sweet success!
Ok, maybe actually a little too sweet.  I sort of need to detox from all the sugar this week!
Breakfast may or may not have consisted of Chocolate covered strawberries...just saying.
A couple of week before the big day, I sprung out my love decor.
My valentines day decorations are a little sparse, but I have collected a few little things over the years.

This sat in my office all month long.  The calendar was hand made for me for Christmas.  Seriously the best present ever!  Each month is designed with a hand print picture.  I'll treasure it for always!
This is a terrible picture, but I Love this little paper garland.  Sorry for the dumb pun!
We were excited to find a few valentine card in the mail and added them to our mantel.

The boys took these homemade valentines to school.  I'm pretty sure hardly any of their classmates got the Bruno Mars reference.  But, it amused me.  I'm easily amused.

And since I have a house full of boys who aren't really into valentines.  We exchanged lego mini figures this year.  Oh yes, and candy...way too much candy.
I'm going to go eat some chocolate now.

xoxo,

Will you be mine?

Hi there all you lovers out there! With valentines day right around the corner, I thought it was finally time for me to give cupid a nod and share my valentines decor.  Wish I would have posted this earlier right?  Better late than never.
A little LOVE for the Mantel
And for the Kitchen window.
Look at how frosty its been outside that window!  I know its pathetic compared to the entire Northern 2/3 of the United States, but for San Antonio, this is down right shocking!

Seriously!  It required a work at home day...
LOVE it when he gets to work from home!

And it needed a cinnamon roll with hot chocolate breakfast to take off the chill.  Yum!

Just look at all that winter gear drying on my impromptu clothesline.  Dripping from a morning trying to make snowballs.  I say trying because the success rate was limited.
But, it did put me in the mood to create a bunch of these.

I've been giving them out to happy teachers and friends all week.

And I finally got around to printing off this.

Isn't it amazing?  It's a free printable from here.  She did a Christmas one too that I had Costco print out at the same time.  I'm storing it behind the valentines one in the same frame.  I really, really hope she has time to do them for every holiday this year.  Wouldn't that be fantastic!

Next to it I filled my bubbly cloche with LOVE.

I just LOVE that cloche.  I scored it at the Pottery Barn outlet for $4!

Those letters are propped up using a little votive holder and some strategically placed scotch tape.

Another cold winter years ago prompted me to stitch these.

Super cheap to make and super good for stress relief.  I seem to always have an ongoing stitching project or two.

Hope you all have a lovely valentines days followed shortly by some lovely weather!

Luv Sweet Luv

Monday was my mother in laws birthday.  To help her celebrate her special day, I made a little something to adorn her home for valentines day.

I followed the same idea as the Peace on Earth Banner I made for Christmas.

Lots of fun papers in a valentine hue, modge podged on Bazzill Basics Chipboard.

Click here to see the details on making those flowers.

This time, however, a little heart in the center.

I used my own vinyl letters to finish it off.

And strung it on a sweet ribbon.

Have fun crafting for LUV.

I'm participating in some of these parties.

Valentine

Surprise your sweetie with a fun valentive decal.  These are approximately 10" square and can go on any hard, flat surface (i.e. mirrors, doors, windows, laptop, etc.)
They will be personalized, of course.

Love Blocks Class!

I've been toying with this idea for a while now and want to start offering classes for my local crafters. At the first class we will create this set of Love Blocks. I will provide all the materials and walk you through the process step by step (no need to fear!)
The only catch is...it's almost valentines day and I want you to have your cute blocks to display before the special date. Thus, this class will be this Monday, February 9th at 10:00 am at my house. The cost will be $9 per set of blocks you want to make at the class. If you can't make it to the class but want a kit including the pre-cut wooden blocks and the lettering, those kits will cost $7 each. I know this doesn't give you much time but I need to know if you want to sign up by this Friday, February 6th at 8:00 am because that is the day I plan to gather supplies and cut wood. I'm limiting this first class to 10 participants but if I happen to have a overwhelming interest, I'll add a class on Tuesday. Please email me if you'd like to participate and need directions to my house in Anna. You can pay me at the time of the class. My home is fairly kid friendly so, if you want to bring little ones, I'm good with that. Can't wait to gather with all my crafting students!

Love is in the air

Here are a few more examples of valentine's style fonts. I could see this same lettering looking so cute on a candy jar or a set of blocks.

Wedding Stacker

This sweet little set of three blocks can be personalized any way you'd like. A wedding date, names, place, etc. could be interchanged for any of the shown wording. This was specifically designed as a wedding gift but could also work as a valentine for a special someone.

Just In time for Valentines Day! This cute little plaque measures 2.5x6" and can go just about anywhere.
